Northern Ontario Repeater List - News

2010.Jul.22

I've made a start at including the proposed Ontario Tourist areas.
I really don't see how they are any better than the existing ones - as they are less descriptive,
but governments being what they are, I guess we're stuck with them.

I've been hard at work updating the repeater information of the adjacent councils.
I've also included repeaters that are slightly outside the 100 mi radius of the NORL border especially if the path goes over water.

2008.Jan.20

Upgraded the backend to PHP 5 and MySQL 5 - If any pages misbehave, let me know so I can fix them. Thanks..
Also added a conversion page to translate between different GPS coordinate systems.

2005.Nov.06
Created a tourist area map (on first menu) with clickable hotspots to list selected repeaters.
2005.Nov.02
More choices for listings of the NORL only repeaters are now available.
2005.Oct.23
Modifications to the Listings page allow you to see only the NORL repeaters or a list by coordination councils. I have placed each record's last "update" time on the listing so you know at a glance when each repeater was updated. Please keep those suggestions coming!

I have the site back on line - If you have any problems, drop me an e-mail and I'll try and sort them out as quickly as possible.

I have the site partially back on line - You can list the repeater database, but I haven't made the changes to allow updates as yet. Please bear with me, I've decided to upgrade the "look" of the site as well, so things are going a bit slower than expected.

I upgraded the server and found that PHP4.1 is not the same animal as PHP3.23 I had to revamp the pages quite a bit in order to recover the functionality. You will no doubt notice some differences. Hang in there, I'll get it back on-line as soon as I can.

Found additional listings in an ARES file. I think all the repeaters are now added, but I require information as to which ones are active. If you can help me out, please register and let me know what repeaters you can update the information for. I will also be adding additional functionality to the logged in section, to combine searches to narrow down available repeater frequencies.

Pretty much have all the repeaters "out of our area" entered from the appropriate listings. Now will have to advertise within Northern Ontario to get our listings added. I have also added some links to the adjacent councils' websites.
2005.Jan.09
I have the "List Repeaters within Radius" page working, and is available under the View Existing Listings. Repeaters in the Upper Penninusla of Michigan and Northern Wisconsin have been entered. Northern Quebec has been entered as well. The remaining repeaters to be entered are the ones in the northern part of the W.N.Y.S.O.R.C. area, and the eastern part of Manitoba.
2005.Jan.05
I have entered most of the Repeaters in Northern Minnesota tonight. Also I have changed status of all repeaters entered from the websites of adjacent councils to "Coordinated." Repeaters are entered if they are within approximately 100 miles of the NORL area.

The site went "live" today. Most of the functionality is there, but in the future I will be working on using Grid Locators or Lat/Long info to determine distances between repeaters. On the listing page there will be additional selection criteria enabled. I also hope to "pretty up" the design of the pages as I complete more of my web programming and design courses.

If you have any problems, questions, comments or suggestions don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail.

Thanks everyone.
